Although the Darklight festival is primarily a vehicle for independent filmmakers, there are several events taking place at this year's festival which may appeal to music fans.
Taking place in The Factory complex at Dublin's Grand Canal Dock, the three-day festival will kick off on October 20th at 8pm with a screening of Sound It Out,a documentary portrait of the last vinyl record shop in Teesside that has been described as " High Fidelitywith a northern accent". On the 22nd, there will be a music video programme screening, as well as a screening of poetry slam documentary We Are Poets.
The festival's closing party, curated by leftfield promoters U:Mack, will feature performances by the Animators, Diamond Dagger, Serengeti and DJ Mark Flood. "Darklight always has a strong musical element," said festival director Nicky Gogan. www.darklight.ie
