AILBHE MALONEis suddenly gaga for a cup of tea
TRACK OF THE WEEK
Waterfallby Rosanna. Rosanna is a Swedish lass who could well be Robyn's younger sister (she's not). Waterfall is her new single, and by gosh is it brilliant. Sterling gloompop with two (two!) whopper choruses, it's about "letting down your guard". Sure, Rosie, you do that – we'll meet you on the dance floor.
- Justin Bieber has won the war of pop against Gaga – for now. Bieber's Baby and Gaga's Bad Romancewere competing for most-viewed video on YouTube, until The Bieb's army rallied and he won by a margin of more than five million votes. Yet the Fringed One has nothing but good things to say about Gaga. "It doesn't matter who has more views, what matters is that we have incredible fans that support us." Too right, littl'un.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"I wrote it for women that feel like they're stuck in abusive relationships, but it's a dance song" – Miley Cyrus on Can't Be Tamed.
N-DUBZ WATCH
Poor Tulisa has been targeted by thieves. After her home was shown on this week's Being N-Dubz, ruffians smashed the windows of the house and attempted to steal a TV. Says Tula: "It's heartbreaking. I asked them not to show the street because I was worried about security. I don't know if I can live there any longer."
- In one of the odder endorsement deals we’ve heard of, Lady Gaga is in talks to become to be the face of . . . Twinings tea. Says an anonymous source: “Names like The Taste of Gaga are being batted about. They want to market tea to a new, younger generation.” Can we suggest “Paparazz-tea”? No? Just us?
- Louis Walsh must have the cattiest tongue in the business. In a break from colour co-ordinating Westlife's suits, Walsh took a moment to slag off Geri Halliwell's turn on The X Factor. "All I can say is, 'Geri who?'" he miaowed. "I mean, what does she know about the music business?" Always such a gent.
