AILBHE MALONEcan't wait for Selena Gomez to get personal
TRACK OF THE WEEK:
Gangsta by Kat Dahlia
Gutsy, melodic, thick accent, strong styling – this debut track from Kat Dahlia is magic. Think Lana Del Rey mixed with a South Beach Alicia Keys. Seriously good.
* Selena Gomez is making a new album! Which means two things: 1. There may be a repeat of the the genius that was Love You Like A Love Song.
2. There might be some Bieber diss-tracks. Speaking to MTV News, Selena cryptically alluded to getting more personal on the upcoming record: “I think for me it was actually interesting to see that towards the middle of me recording my record, a big turn happened to me and it was incredible to see how I applied that to the music because I’ve never done that before and it’s great. I think the older I’m getting, the more I’m just kind of like ‘I’m cool to share my side of the stories as much as I can’, so I’m having a lot of fun.” The album is expected in March.
* Niall Horan passed his driving test! And it seems he was handy behind the wheel, despite fans finding out where he was practising. Niall’s driving tutor spoke to the Herts and Essex Observer, explaining: “We taught Niall Horan from One Direction to drive in one week. We have a specialist part of our driving school which specialises in teaching high-profile people to drive. Niall was at a completely different level – with a lot of high-profile people we tend to be left alone. I had not realised, but when we were doing manoeuvres in the middle of nowhere, within seconds we were surrounded.”
* Lana Del Rey’s been thinking charitable thoughts recently. She told Le Figaro Madame magazine, “Helping others now feels like it’s my turn to give something back. I want to become a sort of Angelina Jolie. Like her, I think fame is nothing in itself, but it can be put to good use – by using it to generate money for charity for example.” Oh, okay.As long as you still release songs though, yeah?
