Track of the week: Not Letting You Go by Tinie Tempah and Jess Glynne
This laid-back jam is perfect for the season that's in it – think a mixture of Pharrell's Frontin and Will Smith's Summertime. Tinie lays down his eternal love for his gal pal over a stripped-back sound, while Jess Glynne (right) waits until the chorus to bring in her earworm hook (which Tinie alludes to, rapping "she knows the hook/but she don't know the verse").
In short, this track is more summery than the smell of suncream.
Heroes of the week: Little Mix. Did you know they wrote current Britney banger Pretty Girls? "We wrote it with Maegan Cottone, who we've written a lot of this album with," Jade Little Mix told the Sun. "We loved the song but it wasn't really for us, so we put it out there and, lo and behold, Britney wanted it."
The group then went on to tell Capital FM: “Well, as we were writing the song, we realised that it sounded more like it should be for somebody else rather than us. We absolutely think that it’s perfect for Britney. She’s absolutely smashing it at the moment”
Zero of the week: sitting for a waxwork, according to Ed Sheeran. Ed's waxwork was unveiled at Madame Tussaud's, and it wasn't the most comfortable experience. "They put you in grey underwear and a grey vest," Ed told Reuters. "And you stand there for two hours while strangers poke you. And hopefully it comes out looking alright".
Still, the accuracy of the end result was worth it, says Ed – “They even got my lazy eye in.”
In case you're wondering: here's Florence and the Machine's tips on how to spot a great song. Florence Welch told the Evening Standard: "I always know a song is working when I sing it to myself outside the studio. It keeps you company a little bit. It's like a prayer you can say to yourself, or like a spell."
