It’s so true: you wait ages for an indie band to come along, and then in the space of one week along trot a pile of them. Make no mistake – for people who like this kind of thing, indie-eargasm is well and truly upon us.

Tomorrow sees quality Irish band Ham Sandwich play their first major headline gig of the year (it’s sold out, too). On the same night there are shows from London/Manchester act We Have Band and Glasgow’s Errors, Kildare’s Mmoths, and Northern Ireland’s Fighting With Wire (Louth). Sunday sees Philadelphia singer- songwriter Kurt Vile the Violators settle into Irish ways, while Wednesday fetches up highly acclaimed Californian act Grouplove.

The week of more-indie- than-you-can-shake-a-Smiths-stick-at concludes on Thursday with the addition of Edinburgh’s Django Django, whose recent self-titled debut album is a dinger of mega-hum proportions.
