Aikens Promotions' Live at the Marquee events have proven to be a something of a hit with the punters. Can't say we blame them – the size and comfort of the tent enclosure is a bonus, as is, surely, the quality of acts on offer. The fact that it crosses over between genres and fanbases is also important. From this week, you've got pop ( Alexandra Burke, Today; Jedward, July 2nd; Westlife, July 9th), folk ( Christy Moore and Declan Sinnott,Tomorrow), mum'n'dad rock ( Elton John, Tuesday) and son'n'daughter indie-rock ( Fleet Foxes, Owen Pallett,Thursday; BellX1, James Vincent McMorrow, July 1st). And that's not counting the previous two weeks, which covered most bases, from US rock icons to UK pop icons to Irish heavyweights.
Something for everyone in the audience, then.
