TRACK OF THE WEEK: Velvet Elvisby Alex Winston. It's been well documented that Pop Corner is gunning to be Alex's bestie, and her single has just sealed the deal. A song about falling in love with objects – in this case, an entrancing velvet Elvis figurine, it's the lead track off her new EP. There's a faded fairground intro, and Alex's voice has taken on the raw throaty quality of her live show – and is much the better for it.

Jessie J has announced that next year she’ll go bald – all in the name of charity. Jessie tweeted: “I have decided I will be shaving my head next year to raise money for charity. To me it’s just hair, to those suffering it’s a chance to live.” Unfortunately, Jessie quickly descended into schmaltz, adding: “it will grow back. Even if it takes two years, if it saves lives it’s worth it. Even if it’s one life that’s something...Music is not just to dance to, it’s to also heal.” We hope her new wig doesn’t come with a hefty price tag, otherwise she’ll be left to hair-do it like a dude.

Oh dear, poor Justin Bieber's been left with egg on his face. While driving in Miami last weekend (with his friend, Beautiful Girls singer Sean Kingston), Biebs was pulled over by the police, who thought he was too young to be driving a convertible Rolls-Royce. The Hollywood Reporterclaims that "the officer asked Justin for his ID and Justin showed him his driver's license. Both Justin and Sean were really friendly and Sean explained that the car was his." With the recent release of her new single Swagger Jagger, Cher Lloyd's been chatting away to all and sundry. The most recent revelation is that she's no longer in touch with Cheryl Cole, and that the pair haven't spoken since the end of X Factorin December 2010 . Cher shrugged it off, saying "I didn't have her mobile number to begin with. I've got more chance of winning the lottery than catching up with her".
