Steven Kolacny of Scala Kolacny Brothers
What's on your rider?Regular stuff. Most of all healthy food for our singers: vegetarian meals, water and so on.
What would be on your fantasy rider?A private masseur-physiotherapist!
What's your pre-gig ritual/ routine?Drinking insane amount of coffees just before entering the stage.
How do you get to the gig – limo, taxi, walking?Taxi. The limo is for next year's tours!
What's the best gig you've been to?Damien Rice, live in Brussels at Cirque Royale. An incredible show, very emotional as well. He was playing as if his life depended on it. An example for every artist, I think.
And the worst?A New Year's concert in our hometown of Aarschot: popular classical music – very loud and very boring at the same time.
What are your favourite and least favourite venues?Favourite: Berlin's Kesselhaus. Least favourite: any venue with bad acoustics!
Who is the most famous person to have shown up at one of your gigs? We're soon going to play a gig for some actors from Downton Abbey. I'm so thrilled about that.
What's your crowd-pleasing number? Our version of Creepby Radiohead.
What's the most you've ever paid for a gig ticket?$72 for a show of Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. Good seats, fortunately.
Chatting between songs – good or bad?Good. The communication between artist and the audience is really very important.
Groupies. Would you?NO!!
How many roadies does it take to change your lightbulbs (ie, how big is your entourage)?Between 15 and 25 singers. Four engineers. One roadie. One tour manager. One manager. Three or four bus drivers.
Have you a special stage wardrobe?Of course!
Do you like to meet and greet fans after the gig?Absolutely. If I could I would talk and have a drink with all of them.
Any useful stage tips?Be careful when you enter or leave the stage. Our drummer once fell off the stage and almost broke his neck.
What's the worst thing ever thrown at you?Words maybe – like someone yelling "it's too loud!"
If you could be in any other band, which one?Sigur Rós.
Who's invited to your aftershow party?Crew members and close friends.
What's your best tour story?Once on tour in Hungary, everyone (literally everyone – about 30 people) got diarrhoea in our tour bus at the same time. Man, what a disaster. I never want to experience that again!
