What's the best gig you've been to?Nirvana, King's Hall, Belfast, 1992. It was my first gig, and it changed my life.

And the worst? There are so many I don't even want to think about it.

What are your favourite and least favourite venues? All venues have the potential to be good. It's usually the disorganised promoter who screws it up.

Who is the most famous person to have shown up at one of your gigs?At SXSW last year we had Pete Townshend at one of our shows, which was quite nerve-wracking as I rip off a lot of his moves.

Most embarrassing on-stage moment? At a show in Italy a few years ago I tripped and fell backwards into my amp while I was trying to rock out. Everybody laughed, I was so embarrassed.

What's your crowd-pleasing number?Everyone Needs a Nemesis.

How many roadies does it take to change your lightbulbs (ie, how big is your entourage)? We only bring a tour manager and a sound engineer, so it's five altogether.

Does Fighting With Wire have a special stage wardrobe? We wear only white sports socks when we play.

Do you like to meet and greet fans after the gig?Always – it's very important to us.

Any useful stage tips?Don't fall, and never eat just before going on stage.

What's the worst thing ever thrown at you?I got hit with a plastic glass full of beer a few years ago. It made everything sticky and horrible.

If you could be in any other band, which one?Lafaro.

Who's invited to your aftershow party?Lafaro.

What's your best tour story?I can't tell you.
