Here we have a clear case of accentuating the positive, as Irish singer and songwriter Cathy Davey comes up with a good idea for kick-starting 2012: take three things she’s good at and dish them out over three successive Thursdays at a venue that is just the right size to say “you shoulda been there”.
Night one (next Thursday) sees Davey and full band feature music from her three albums (2004’s Something Ilk, 2007’s Tales of Silversleeve and 2010’s The Nameless). Night two (Thursday, Feb 9th) features Davey and as yet unspecified special guests tackling her award-winning Dublin Fringe festival show, Songs That Scare Children. Night three (Thursday, February 16th) sees Davey embrace the cover version, specifically songs from people she admires the most.
All told, three separate and special shows from a singular performer and songwriter. Try and make all three, why not?
