The indie-cations are good

Dublin’s Indiecater Records has just released its third consecutive Christmas album

Dublin's Indiecater Records has just released its third consecutive Christmas album. An Indiecater Christmas 2010features 10 songs – nine of which are original – by both Irish and international artists.

Label founder Kevin Dunphy put the call out for bands to submit Christmas songs for inclusion on the compilation, and the response was so great that he was forced to expand the planned EP to an album.

The record features festive songs by Irish, English, Swedish and American acts, including The Gorgeous Colours, The Very Most, Adam Darcie and more. It is available to stream and to download (€5) from indiecater.com.

The label, an offshoot of the MP3hugger blog, has grown from initially reissuing deleted or hard-to-find albums to releasing new material from many of the bands included on the compilation – primarily digitally, although there have been a number of physical releases.
