It was difficult to get into Brandon Flowers’ Dublin show on Wednesday – especially for critics. But it would have been a shame to miss The Killers frontman in action at The Academy.
A combination of the intimate setting, a great live performance and the singer's own obvious enjoyment made for an impressive show. Aside from tracks from his current solo album
Flamingo, Flowers threw in a cover of
Bette Davis Eyes, a reworked
When You Were Youngand U2's
If God Will Send His Angels, all to a rapturous reception. Standout tracks were
Jilted Lovers and Broken Heartsand
Playing with Fire.
