Villagers have been nominated for an Ivor Novello Award. Conor O'Brien, the band's protagonist, is up for Best Song Musically and Lyrically for Becoming a Jackal. The other contenders in the category are MY KZ, YR BF by Mancunian band Everything Everything and Spanish Saharaby Foals. O'Brien told Digital Spy that he was "surprised" and "humbled". The winner will be announced on May 19th.
