More words are sung than spoken in Carney's disarmingly charming Dublin musical, which affectionately charts the tender relationship that forms between a Grafton Street busker (Hansard) and a Czech pianist (Irglova). Their instinctive chemistry is beautifully expressed when they make sweet music together in an irresistibly appealing movie that is full of heart and packs an emotional punch. The DVD has a commentary from Carney, Hansard and Irglova, plus two featurettes.
