The Problem : Developing countries (Pakistan, India and North Korea to name just three) have quickened the pace to become nuclear states. The established nuclear powers (the US, Russia, Britain, France and China) already have some 40,000 nuclear warheads with a total destructive power that is more than a million times greater than the bomb that flattened Hiroshima.
The Solution : A beginning to genuine nuclear disarmament by the nuclear states, particularly by the one superpower, the United States. A strong president is required to lead US public opinion and in turn, attempt to lead the world away from nuclear proliferation.
