Last Sunday's auction held by Town & Country on its premises in Dublin saw a 19th century Dutch oak-panelled wall with entwined fluted sectional panels and with fireplace inset make £2,150. A stripped pine counter with moulded cornice sold for £800.
A 19th century giltwood, rectangular mirror sold for £720 and three bronze figures of Siobhan McKenna, Patrick Kavanagh and Micheal MacLiammoir, which came from the Bailey pub in Dublin, went for £520, £470 and £380 respectively. Among paintings, an oil by Charles McAuley of cattle grazing fetched £1,500 and Court Jester by Harry Kernoff sold for £1,050.
