Newman House in Dublin is the venue for a special two-day collectables fair, opening this morning at 11 a.m. Dealers from throughout Ireland, as well as France, Belgium and the United States are expected at this event, which offers a wide range of material, including coins, banknotes, stamps and postal memorabilia, military medals and related items.
There will be a large number of pieces of Irish interest, such as a specimen £10 note issued by the Enniscorthy branch of the Provincial Bank of Ireland (circa 1850) and a two guinea note issued by the Waterford Bank on September 1st, 1808. In addition, on view will be a 1916 survivor's medal, Victorian campaign medals issued to old Irish regiments of the British army, medieval Irish hammered coins and a wide range of early Irish stamps.
