Over the moon at archive flicks

As the Dublin Theatre Festival continues, the Irish Film Archive is presenting a short tie-in season at the IFI

As the Dublin Theatre Festival continues, the Irish Film Archive is presenting a short tie-in season at the IFI. James Cromwell, now appearing in Druid's production of Long Day's Journey Into Night at the Gaiety, will participate in a public interview with my colleague Donald Clarke at noon tomorrow, followed by a screening of the excellent LA Confidential (1997), in which Cromwell features.

The season continues with the 1962 film of Brian Friel's play Philadelphia, Here I Come!; John Ford's 1957 The Rising of the Moon based on stories by Lady Gregory, Frank O'Connor and Michael McHugh; and Conor McPherson's Saltwater (2000), based on his own play, This Lime Tree Bower. www.irishfilm.ie
