A 17th century Flemish painting depicting Christ healing the sick sold for £8,000 at the James Adam salerooms on Wednesday, the top price of the auction. There were some strong results elsewhere in the sale a large pair of terracotta urns fetched £5,400; a smaller pair sold for £2,900; an Austrian carved hat bear in a tree hat stand made £2,300; a good walnut bureau with doors inset with bevelled mirror panels sold for £4,200; and a nice pair of William IV armchairs, which had been expected to make around £1,000, sold for £3,900. A stained glass panel from Killarney Cathedral made £3,100.
