Jameson Dublin International Film FestivalThis year's festival opens with the world première of Pearse Elliott's The Mighty Celt, starring Gillian Anderson and Robert Carlyle. It's the directorial début of Elliott, who wrote last year's Irish hit comedy, Man About Dog, and here returns again to the world of greyhound racing.
The Centerpiece Gala will be Danny Boyle's Millions, which the festival expects will be attended by the director. The closing film is the highly anticipated new Wes Anderson film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, starring Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett and Anjelica Huston. There's a St Valentine's Day gala screening of Melinda and Melinda, Woody Allen's romantic comedy featuring Will Ferrell, Jonny Lee Miller and Chlöe Sevigny, which has been acclaimed as Allen's best work in years. And, as usual, there'll be much guessing going on, most of it wrong, about the identity of this year's Surprise Film.
