Small but interesting is how Sara Kenny of Hamilton Osborne King describes next Wednesday's furniture sale in Blackrock. Around 300 lots will be auctioned, including quantities of porcelain, glass and pottery.
Among the most interesting of the furniture lots is a Victorian library table (£1,200 to £1,600). An early 19th century Irish sideboard is estimated to fetch £1,400-£1,800, while a Victorian mahogany sofa has a top estimate of £1,000. Other lots are: an oak two-tier buffet by Gillows (£400-£600); a Victorian drawingroom chair (£500-£800) and a Victorian three-tier dumb waiter (£500-£800). The sale lots are on view tomorrow from 2 p.m. Meanwhile, Hamilton Osborne King is now accepting items for an auction to be held at the RDS on November 25th.
This is the first time that HOK have held a sale at this venue and no doubt they are hoping that its association with the Irish Antiques Dealers Fair will attract some good quality lots. For more information contact the Blackrock office.
