Early American portrait albums with more than 100 original photographs, individually signed and believed to date from the 1850s, are among the items on sale at the Dublin Castle antiques and collectables fair tomorrow.
The albums include tinplate photographs of soldiers from the Union army in the American Civil War, as well as politicians of the time and their wives. In addition, the fair will include a collection of early Victorian saltglazed earthenware pottery, silver, prints, linen, lace, Victorian and Edwardian gold and silver jewellery and china. The fair, which is being held in The Old Coachhouse, opens at 10.30 a.m.
