Chili Palmer is a smooth operator, so you can bet that the soundtrack music for his latest caper has got the bling. The follow-up to Get Shorty sees gangster-turned-movie-producer Palmer turning his hand to the music business, and the tunes on here shimmy from old-school disco (Earth, Wind & Fire's Fantasy, Kool & the Gang's Hollywood Swinging) to hot-ass hip-hop (Black Eyed Peas' Sexy) to dirty dancehall (Baby Bash's Suga Suga) to fly funk (James Brown's The Boss) to camped-up country'n'western (The Rock doing Loretta Lynn's You Ain't Woman Enough). R'n'b bombshell Christina Milian gets two songs, but then she stars in the movie, although co-star Steve Tyler gets none. Hardly a David Holmes job, but it's cool enough. www.becoolmovie.com
