The Project Arts Centre has opened itself up to the visual arts this summer, hosting a range of artists throughout the venue. Included is the work of young Irish artist Sam Keogh (below), installations by Janice Kerbel, and a collection of sculptures. The Galway Fringe Festival continues this week (until July 30th) and one of the highlights is Mick Donnellan's Velvet Revolution, which is on at the Town House Bar daily at 1pm. galwayfringe.ie

DOWN

The Lagan Towpath is a moderate walk along river, canals and wetland from Belfast to Lisburn. Some of the canals date from the late 18th century, and there's a good mix of woodland to admire also. The overall distance is 11 miles and it is mainly off-road paths. walkni.com
