It’s official: there is now no escape from The Script. Two years ago, the Dubliners were viewed in certain quarters with a degree of scepticism due to their rather antiseptic debut album (we freely admit that the sneer, “Westlife with an Arts degree”, came from this corner). Truth be told, though, last year’s follow-up, Science Faith, is a difficult record to dismiss out of hand. Between radio play, television performances and a general all-pervasiveness, the songs are tuneful, structured and shrink-wrapped in such a friendly manner that it would almost be rude not to like them.

Playing such large venues with a mere two albums under your belt indicates that there won’t be too much deviation in the setlists, but in the interests of fair play, credit is due: the lads done well.
