A CARTIER blue topaz and diamond ring is the most interesting item in O'Reilly's sale next Wednesday. The ring is expected to fetch £3,000-£4,000. A four-carat solitaire has a top estimate, of £12,090; a diamond and emerald cluster ring is estimated at £2,500-£3,000; a carat three-stone diamond ring could fetch up to £5,500; and an Edwardian diamond solitaire ring of 1.8 carats is expected to make up to £4,000. A Victorian diamond marquise ring has a top estimate of £1,400.

There will also be the usual selection of gold and silver muff chains, numerous rings and bracelets and brooches, as well as wrist and pocket watches.

In the silver section an Irish silver salver is estimated at £400-£450 and an Irish sanctuary lamp, dating from 1900, has a top estimate of £700.
