Two Arts Ministers, former and current, are among the contributors to The Whoseday Book, an anthology of words and images by artists, writers, photographers, historians, composers, journalists, architects, singers and philosophers, presented in the form of a journal for next year, 2000. Published as part of the Irish Hospice Foundation's fundraising campaign, and edited by Marie Donnelly, it's a beautifully produced volume, full of surprising juxtapositions, with one image, poem, or prose extract per daily entry, accompanied by a biographical note. It's unlikely to be actually used as a journal; it would take a certain amount of confidence to defile these impeccably designed pages with one's own scrawled pensees. (On sale from Monday, March 21st, £40 with boxed cover, £30 without.)
