Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess All Over Illuminator (€45)
A chunky warm toned stick that will enable you to swipe targeted colour over cheekbones, collarbones and just about anywhere you would like to add a hint of heat. Slightly shimmering and blendable, I find that it is nice used over lips and eyelids too.
Bourjois Sun Illusion Blur Skin Perfector Smooth and Flawless Tan (€11.99)
This frightened the life out of me at first even though I was trying out the palest shade as it seemed so dark in the tub. But once you begin to blend, the colour of this face tan is surprisingly natural and is great when mixed with your regular foundation too if you only want a nod towards a tanned look.
Giorgio Armani Crema Nuda Supreme Glow Reviving Tinted Cream (online only Price TBC)
Armani are pitching this fabulously heavy jar of complexion perfector as a cross between a luxury BB and a CC cream. The coverage is medium, the choice of six shades means you can chose one to give you a summer kissed glow and the hydrating benefits of the cream will keep your skin feeling fresh.
Sally Hansen Airbrush Sun Gradual Tanner (€11.99)
Gradual tans are really the only type of tan that pale as milk skin tones should even consider when attempting at home tan. Anything else will inevitably result in streaks, stripes, missed bits and orange palms unless you are expert at application - and lets face it, few of us are. This new gradual tan from Sally Hansen is easy to apply and can be built up on a daily basis for a deeper colour.
Tom Ford Gold Dust (€60 small, €80 full size)
No set of bronzing picks can be complete without a sumptuous bronzer; one that will see you through the whole season and can probably be resurrected for use the following year. In its chic white glossy compact together with giant mirror this bronzer with its subtle shimmer will do you proud.

Lancome Flash Bronzer Night Sun Self Tanning Face Cream (from June €30)
Unlike some overnight tans this can actually be used instead of your night cream as well as an overnight tanner as it is full of vitamin E and a trio of face friendly oils. It is subtle and builds gradually so on the first morning expect a very slight glow which you can build upon if you would like a bit more colour.
