I can't live without . . . LESLEY KEANE Senior make-up artist for MAC Cosmetics, who will be working her magic backstage at the IFTA's tonight

Mac’s New Prep Prime Moisture Infusion (€39). Due to central heating and the cold weather, skin is prone to getting really dry. This new serum plumps up and balances the skin. It gives instant results, which is perfect for when I’m backstage. After applying, I then go over with a moisturiser and then the skin is perfect for applying make-up. It also helps get rid of fine lines. It is the red carpet weapon which I will be using at the IFTAs this weekend.

Mac’s Lingering Brow Pencil (€16.50). The perfect brow colour for blondes. I have no brows, which can look scary, so when I’m running out the door and I have no make-up on, I just apply this and it looks really natural. This season it’s all about the straight boy-brow so I’ve used this a lot backstage and on editorial shoots. It also complements a classic red lip, perfect for any red carpet or glam event.

My Blackberry. I have my life on my Blackberry. I wouldn’t know what to do without it. From my portfolio to a schedule that changes every day, it has everything I need on it. If I lost it, I would have no idea what to do or where I was supposed to be.

High-end and high street Deschanel gets it right

It’s awards season and here’s Zooey Deschanel mixing couture and high street to great effect at the recent Golden Globe awards. No expense was spared on her custom-made Prada gown encrusted with black and green glass pearls, but when it came to her face, (inspired by 1960s TV Avenger Emma Peel), make-up artist Jorjee Douglass reached for Rimmel. Zooey’s skin looks flawless with Match Perfect Foundation, with Lash Accelerator giving her lashes va-va-voom. The winning touch is the nude lips which keep everything fresh and modern. Just goes to show that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look like a million dollars.
