As spring settles, it is time to shake off the paleness of winter and make way for a healthy glow. However, as most of us know, a “healthy” glow from the sun is not actually healthy at all.
Fake tan provides us with the opportunity to add a dash of colour to our limbs in a safe and healthy manner. Irish-based companies Karora and Bellamianta combine the ability to give a safe healthy glow with ingredients that moisturise, nourish and care for skin.
Bellamianta, based in Co Tyrone, is a new addition to the Irish market. It was founded by friends Lisa McDermott and Linda Stinson. This tan is easy to apply, dries in 60 seconds, does not transfer on to clothes and develops over two to four hours, depending on the depth of colour you want to achieve. Enriched with shea butter and aloe vera and free of harmful additives, it is also kind to the skin.
Karora, based in Dublin, was founded in 2011 by Karen Brown and Tomasz Kucemba. It has experienced huge growth in the US and the UK. There are a suite of products, including mists, mousses, gradual tanners and CC creams. All the products are packed with skin-friendly ingredients such as essential oils, argan and coconut oil, and vitamin E.
