They’re calling it temporary skin art and it’s Chanel’s take on tattoos, a far cry from the anchors and dragons favoured by seafarers of old.
These are delicate and feminine affairs that encircle the wrist, form a garter on a bride’s thigh, or decorate a décolleté with a bouquet of wild flowers. Designed by Peter Philips, global creative director of Chanel make-up, the tattoo sets have many of the emblematic motifs of the company, such as interlocking Cs, ropes of pearls or chains interlaced with leather. Application is easy – cut out the design, place the tattoo on clean, dry skin and allow it to dry for about a minute. It can be removed with body lotion or cream. On sale at €55 from March 1st in the Chanel boutique in Brown Thomas, Dublin.
