Jonathan McKeever’s clickini label (clickini.com), written about here a few months ago, is making rapid international progress from its base in Taylor’s Hill in Galway. His “plage” wear has become the bikini supplier for Naomi Watts’s new Hollywood film, and Christopher Kane’s sister Tammy bought her honeymoon beach wardrobe from his site.
McKeever’s first ever pop-up shop will open in a €2,200-a-night villa (pictured) at the Maradiva resort in Mauritius from January 6th for a month, showing that this guy does things in style. His website has just debuted a leather bag collection by Tomas Maier, creative director of Bottega Veneta, under his own name and retailing for €500-€800. Check out the beautiful cashmere scarves by Dianora Salviati and hot new cruise season additions of swimwear, T-shirts and leggings by Norma Kamali from New York.
Back to his roots
Fans of Peter O’Brien will be heading to Arnotts, not A|wear, this week. The designer debuted a new collection for the shop that gave him his first job in the 1970s. Some 23 pieces (including the one sketched by O’Brien here) make up this tightly focused collection in black, navy and camel with shots of white, in his signature fabrics of wool crepe, cashmere, silk grosgrain and chiffon, including two options in coat and trouser shapes and three dresses.
Prices notch up a bit higher because of the better quality fabrics and range from €110 for a wrap shirt up to €495 for a fitted wool cashmere coat. There are very limited stocks of each piece.
