Women's Aid is opening a new charity shop called WaWa on Aungier Street, Dublin 2, this Thursday, and they're seeking donations of good quality clothes, accessories and books.
Donations can be dropped into the shop directly, and, in an innovative drive for quality stock, Women's Aid is encouraging workplaces to get involved in organising collections of clothes and other items.
Women's Aid offers invaluable support to women who experience domestic violence, which is reason enough for a donation, but they stress the additional benefit of ensuring used items are reused rather than binned, and offers people an opportunity to update their wardrobe, bookshelf or a room without breaking the bank.
Of course, used clothes and other items are not the only sort of donations WaWa can benefit from - for those with a few hours to spare each week, Women's Aid would welcome shop volunteers.
All proceeds from the shop go to fund the Women's Aid National Freephone Helpline (1800-341900). You can call the shop on 01-4759927.
