I was genuinely sad to hear of the recent demise of Berry Brothers Ireland. Some Irish people never seemed to get over the British ownership and royal warrants. But over the past decade, they brought a new level of professionalism and competition to the fine wine scene in this country.
The shop in Harry Street was always a pleasure to visit, and staffed by some fairly knowledgeable people. In addition, they had access to an amazing array of fine Bordeaux, Burgundy and other wines through their UK offices. We shall certainly miss them.
