It’s official – Ireland is a nation of pizza lovers. We’ve been inundated with responses to our invitation to vote for your favourite pizza by emailing pizza@irishtimes.com.

Hundreds of readers have taken the time to tell us about their favourites, and they’re spread right across the country, with smaller operations just as loyally supported as more high-profile restaurants.

There’s been the occasional social media campaign mounted by makers of pizza – and there’s a certain Cork city restaurant that’s going to be handing out a lot of free pizzas thanks to their voting policy – but on the whole the votes were from loyal customers who know a good pizza when they taste one.

We’re closing the email to votes at 6pm this evening and we’ll bring you the results – with quotes from some of you who wrote lovely things about your favourites – in the Magazine on April 12th. Thank you for voting.
