Fruit vinegars are going to be big in 2009, so get in on the act early by picking up some of the beautifully packaged A l'Olivier range at Harvey Nichols in Dundrum, Dublin 14.

A l'Olivier vinegars are made in Saint Cyr-sur-Mer on the French Riviera, and as the vibrant jewel colours suggest, they're packed full of ripe, fruity flavour. The range includes raspberry, passion fruit, fig and tomato pulp vinegars, each with a price tag of €7.75. They make great dressings, mixed with olive, hazelnut or walnut oils, and the raspberry is excellent with duck. Or you could pretty up a tomato, basil and mozzarella salad with a few drops of the tomato vinegar, which is sweeter and fruitier than you'd expect it to be. Full marks for versatility as well as innovation.
