The new collection by Rei Kawakubo for H & M, the most adventurous collaboration yet between an avant garde designer and a global giant, made its debut in Tokyo today.
It comprises both menswear and womenswear and features suits and shirts cut on the bias or with Comme des Garçons signature patchwork techniques.
Other pieces include more classic trench coats, peacoats and trousers, but most eye-catching of all are the polka-dot shirts and T-shirts and the signature coat dresses. Fabrics are stretch, merino, jersey and boiled wool, gabardine and cotton poplin in black, white, midnight blue, red and rose. Prices start at around €22.90 for scarves and go up to €280 for men's suits and the coat dress.
The Comme des Garçon collection goes on sale in H & M Dundrum, Dublin 14 and South King Street, Dublin 2, from next Thursday, November 13th.
