Agents Hooke & MacDonald also hit the jackpot last weekend, selling 124 properties with a total value of £17 million at its Property Showcase, in the Radisson St Helen's Hotel in Dublin. The sales covered a mixture of Section 23 apartments in Dublin's inner city, seaside homes in resorts, such as Courtown, Kilkeen and Achill, and apartment developments in Enniskillen, Portrush and near Edinburgh in Scotland. The agency says most of the Section 23 apartments in Dublin were almost sold out, including all 44 units in Number 25 Wolfe Tone Street and most of the homes in the New Hardwicke, near Smithfield, and five refurbished apartments at 47 Mountjoy Square. Hooke & MacDonald reports that over 1,500 people attended the showcase. Many of them took time to take in a lecture on tax by Cathal Maxwell of the Irish Mortgage Corporation.
