Terenure: €2.5m Dublin housebuilders are expected to take an interest in the sale of Bessboro, a detached period house on 0.84 acres at 51 Terenure Road West in Dublin 6W which has development potential subject to planning permission.

Lisney is quoting a guide price of €2.5 million for the property which will be auctioned on September 29th.

Bessboro, built circa 1880, is zoned Objective A under the South Dublin County Development Plan 1998 which is "to protect and/or improve residential amenity".

If it is purchased by a residential developer the fate of the detached Victorian house, which is not listed, remains to be seen.

It is estimated that the site could could potentially fit 25 to 30 residential units.

It has been in the same ownership for 40 years and is set on on secluded manicured gardens close to Terenure and Rathgar villages .

The 221 sq m (2,378 sq ft) house has several fine reception rooms, a drawingroom, diningroom, four bedrooms, a utility area, boiler house, various outbuildings, a garage, and a 21.5 sq m (232 sq ft) gate-lodge.
