A Belfast developer has received outline permission for a £20 million sterling retail warehouse and entertainment complex on a 15-acre site just off the town centre in Portadown, Co Armagh. The proposal is for a mixed development of warehousing, cineplex, entertainment centre, fast-food drive-through, filling station with associated road works and parking. The site is at Edenderry and consists of the town's former gas works, a former car showroom and part of the rugby club bounded by Bridge Street, Joseph Street and Watson Street. The developer, Vico Investments, is offering to pay £2 million towards upgrading road access. Work on the cineplex element, which already has full planning, is due to start shortly.
