Parkgate Hall, a distinctive redbrick building near the entrance to the Phoenix Park at Conyngham Road, Dublin 7, is to be converted into a 42-bedroom hotel if planning permission is obtained from Dublin Corporation. The new owners of the hall, Mantwood Investments, has opted for the hotel rather than use the building for a 177-bed hostel. In Sandymount, Dublin 4, developer Paddy Kelly has been refused planning permission to build 18 flats and a two-storey house at 62 Park Avenue. Meanwhile, Dunloe House has sought planning permission for a five-storey office building with penthouse level at North Anne Street and Cuckoo Lane, Dublin 7.
