FIVE bidders chased a house in Sandymount, Dublin 4, at a Savills auction yesterday, and it sold for €95,000 over its guide.

It was an executor sale, and the AMV had been set low – it was just €295,000. In the event, 1 Oaklands Drive, Sandymount, D4, a three-bed semi in need of refurbishment, sold for €390,000.

The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac and has 97sq m (1,044sq ft) of space.

In other auction results, JP M Doyle sold Lewistown House in Newbridge, Co Kildare, for €2,375,000 (that includes 90 acres of land). Meanwhile Sherry FitzGerald OReilly sold 6 Millbrook Villas in Naas, Co Kildare, at auction for €145,000 and withdrew Genazzano, a 1930s house on Old Naas Road, Kingswood, Dublin 22 at €205,000 and is seeking €225,000.
