Spain: Built around an 18-hole course designed by golfing legends Jack Nicklaus and Dave Thomas, La Torre resort, being developed by Polaris World in Murcia, on the Costa Colida in Spain, is just 50 minutes from Alicante airport.

Prices start at €161,700 for 67 sq m (720 sq ft) two-bedroom apartments, two-bed golf villas are from €220,700 and three-bed villas are from €327,900. Larger three-bed villas are typically 232 sq m (2,500 sq ft) with solariums. Hamilton Osborne King is the selling agent.

The ancient city of Murcia is on the south-east coast of the Iberian peninsula and has stunning beaches and top golf courses like the famous La Manga club.Another bonus is 315 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of 21 degrees.

Polaris World is developing three golf resorts in the area - La Torre, El Valle golf resort and Mar Menor - each with a mix of villas, townhouses and apartments and with town-centre shopping, restaurants, a spa and sports facilities as well as a five-star hotel managed by Intercontinental Hotels. Although the homes are Mediterranean-style, the resorts are based on an American model with wide avenues laden with plants and are low-density, with many of the homes overlooking the fairways.

The resorts will be within a closed perimeter with 24-hour controlled access monitored by security personnel. Completion is expected in 2006.

Prices are currently significantly lower than in equivalent resorts on the Costa del Sol. "Prices in nearby La Manga are significantly higher," says Hamilton Osborne King, "and illustrate the potential value that can be enjoyed when buying early in the process."

Hamilton Osborne King will host an exhibition of the Polaris World golf resorts in the Westbury Hotel Friday and Saturday November 14th-15th from 11 a.m.
