Plans to build a six-storey apartment scheme at the former Bewley's bakery on Portland Street North have been lodged with Dublin City Council.
Danway, a consortium of developers including Pierse Contracting Ltd's Norbert O'Reilly and Fearghal O'Nolan, is seeking to build over 130 apartments at 28-39 Portland Street North. The developers are seeking to build three apartment blocks ranging in height from five to six storeys on the 0.38-hectare site on Portland Street North. The scheme will comprise one, two and three-bedroom apartments, six own-door offices and 133 car-parking spaces will also be provided.
The site is broadly square and comprises mainly single-storey light-industrial buildings, which were previously occupied by Bewley's Bakery. It had previous planning permission for 6,735 sq m (72,400 sq ft) of offices. Danway also lists Frank Hunter and Vincent Melinn as directors.
