The Irish Bank Officials Association has failed to secure planning permission to demolish the existing store, squash court and Banker's Club premises at the rear of 92/93 St Stephen's Green and their replacement with four floors of offices over a basement car-park.

An Bord Pleanala has ruled that the change would seriously damage the amenities in a conservation area and would have a negative impact on numbers 92 and 93, which are included in List I and List III of buildings and interiors to be preserved.
