Kildare County Council has given notice of its intention to grant planning permission for a large business and technology park in Celbridge. Janus Securities, a company controlled by the Rhatigan brothers and McMullan Brothers Ltd who are promoting the scheme, have offered to transfer to the state over 130 acres of parkland surrounding Castletown House.
The company will also hand over land on both sides of the M4 motorway for a planned interchange which will service Intel, Hewlett Packard and Celbridge.
The planning application sought permission for 1.25 million sq ft of business, services and light industrial space. Janus offered to make the land available quickly and to give what it termed a "substantial financial contribution" towards the financing of the link road to Celbridge. Peter Stapleton of Lisney is advising Janus Securities.
