Good news for Costa del Sol home owners - Cityjet has announced it will be back with scheduled services to Malaga from 15 March, just in time for St Patrick's Day and Easter.
The service will return with five direct flights a week, every day of the week except Tuesday and Wednesday, with fares from £199.
Last October, people were dismayed when Cityjet suspended its three times weekly Malaga service, particularly business people who like to be able to use their properties for weekends and short stays.
At that time, Cityjet could give no indication of when it would return. The new owner of the airline, Air France, was reviewing all the routes and needed the aircraft to service another network.
Visitors to the Costa del Sol wanting to use scheduled services have been forced to travel through a variety of European airports to get there, including Barcelona, Brussels, Stansted, Luton, East Midlands, Paris, and Liverpool to name a few.
The resumed service will be operated with a British Aerospace aircraft, which the comfort of leather seating.
Cityjet says it was inundated with calls from people who were disappointed that the service was suspended and are now delighted to come back on the route. Reservations, it says, have been pouring in from travel agents.
Flights will depart Dublin at 8.15 a.m., arriving in Malaga in time for lunch, and will depart Malaga at 1.25 p.m., arriving in Dublin at 3.35 p.m. local time.
