The rush to open new pubs in Dublin continues following the liberalisation of the licensing laws.

Coopers has sought permission for a change of use of its restaurants to bars at The Sweepstake Centre on the Merrion Road in Ballsbridge and at Lower Leeson Street.

Elsewhere, Tallcastle Properties is seeking permission to open a bar in a refurbished building at 9 Liffey Street Lower and 60/61/62 The Lotts. It is also planned to provide seven apartments on the upper floors.
