Urban Redevelopment: Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has granted permission for a development of 369 homes at the former Bank of Ireland sports grounds at Knockrabo, Mount Annville Road, Goatstown, D14. The development of apartments and a few townhouses would be housed in eight blocks ranging in height from two to 12 storeys.

The decision is likely to be appealed to An Bord Pleanála by local residents, who are already appealing permission granted to O'Malley Construction for a 159-unit development on another part of the site. An Taisce and residents are concerned over height, density, traffic and car-parking.

O'Malley Construction bought a portion of the Mount Annville site from Niall Mellon's Knockrabo Developments. Mellon bought the site for €50 million in 2003 from the Merrion Property Group. An Bord Pleanála previously blocked a plan by that group to build almost 600 apartments and houses on the site.
