Houses with sea views are at their most alluring at this time of year, and it is no surprise that a number are up for auction within weeks of each other. Number 4 Coliemore Villas is a charming four-bedroom house built in 1847 just off Coliemore Road, a short walk from the centre of Dalkey, Co Dublin.
Agent Peter Kieran of Lisney is quoting a guide price in excess of £1 million for the property, which will be sold at auction on June 22nd.
The four houses on Coliemore Villas are tucked away off Coliemore Road, behind an arch over a leafy lane. The owner of Number 4 says the houses were apparently built by a former surgeon general of Ireland, who lived in the big house beyond the end of the terrace, for each of his four daughters.
The house is a fine property, which would suit a family who loves the sea, but doesn't like gardening: the back of the house is a series of terraces stepping down towards the rocks, and the very bottom terrace gets the sun all day.
